LeeRoy Hutchsion, 66, Anderson, died peacefully with his family at his bedside on August 15, 2003 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born December 31, 1936 in Paris, Kentucky and had lived in Anderson all of his adult life. He retired from Delco Remy in 1986 after 30 years employment. He was owner of J & N Trucking Co., Inc. since 1989 along with his wife. During this time he gained many lifelong friends. He was an avid Nascar racing fan.
He enjoyed fishing and watching WWE. He was president of Frankton Little League for 3 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army enlisting in February, 1956, serving at Fort Leonard Wood in Springfield, Missouri. He was also stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas and Fort Stewart in Hinesville, Georgia. During his career in the service he flew RCAT experimental planes, was a member of the football team traveling extensively in the United States and some points in Europe.
He was also a member of the diving team. He came out of the service with the rank of Sergeant. In 1997 he earned the prestigious award in the trucking industry of ?Master Truck Driver? This award represented one million miles of accident free driving. It was an honor he was very proud of and only awarded to an elite number of drivers nationwide.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine, when he married on Feb. 3, 1962; four children, Sandy husband, Chris Simpson of Moons ville, Ramona husband, Mike Fountain of Perkins ville, Melissa fiance?, Bill Barnes of Anderson, Todd fiance? Raven Minnick of Middletown. Two sisters, Billie Clay O Neal of Anderson, JoAnne husband, Belford Phillips of Tustin, California and brother, Pete wife, Myrna of Anderson. He was a beloved Grandfather of special grandchildren, Amanda and Dustin Simpson, Taylor, Andrew and Mason Barnes, Collin Hutchison, Kendra Campbell, Tanner Hutchison, Jamie True blood, Mika Fountain and Alexis Simpson.Great Grandchildren, Seth, Cody, and Shelbie Hutchison.
He will be sadly missed by a special nephew, Joey Hutchison. He will be deeply missed by his enormous group of family, employees and special friends gained over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Dora Jones Hutchison; brothers, Ray Hutchison and John Thomas Hutchison; sons, James Lee and Edgar R. Hutchison and step-father, Leonard Willis.
