LeeAnn Steinberger, 65, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2022, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
LeeAnn was born February 15, 1956, in Newton, Iowa, to Robert and JoAnne (Mackerman) Steinberger. She graduated from Newton High School and later attended Des Moines Area Community College.
She worked for multiple companies including: Maytag, John Deer, Principal, Pioneer, Nationwide and most recently Marsh for 26 years.
She was an avid supporter of veterans. Her father was a veteran, which lead her to always donate and support all veteran charities and organizations. LeeAnn was an absolute animal activist. She has always given to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. She was an ultimate pet owner and lover of multiple breeds of dogs, which included Pekingese. Despite living in town in Windsor Heights, LeeAnn always fed the beautiful birds that filled the trees in her yard, squirrels and deer that made their way to her back door and the mice from the “Catch and release method” in her garage.
LeeAnn would tell you the catch and release method meaning, she would lure them in with cheese and let them go outside. She did not believe in mice traps. In fact, there is a quote that describes her well, “She would never hurt a fly” literally.
She always put everyone else before herself. Despite having her taste and smell taken from her after an accident in 93′, she was an unbelievable cook. She always made sure everyone was pleased with what she had whipped up! Always, making sure everyone was satisfied with what she was offering.
LeeAnn is survived by her fiancé, Tim Supino of Windsor Heights, IA; friend, Dave Spidle of Gilman, IA. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert J Steinberger and mother, JoAnne Steinberger.
