Mr. Taylor was born in Lawrence County, Alabama on March 25, 1936 to the late Robert and Susie Brackins Taylor.  He departed this earthly life September 6, 2012 at Decatur General Hospital.

Under the guidance of his parents, he joined Oakville Methodist Church in Oakville, Alabama.  He later joined Freeman Tabernacle where he remained a member until his death.  He was a 1954 graduate of Moulton High School.  He received his B.S. Degree in History and Science from Alabama A&M University.  He was U.S. Navy Veteran.  His previous employment included: Reynolds Metal Company, Lawrence County Health Department and a farmer.  Lee was proud to be to be the first black City Councilman representing District 4 in Moulton since 1986

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Susie Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a beloved sister, Lula Sheffey of Moulton; one brother, Roosevelt Taylor (Margaret) of Cleveland, OH; a devoted friend, Peggy Taylor of Moulton and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
