Lee Junior Roy, born December 13, 1924 and passed away peacefully Thursday, March 24, 2022, at home at the age of 97.
Lee served in the US Army during World War II from 1943 – 1946 and was a Purple Heart recipient.
Lee was a revenue auditor for the State Of Iowa. He was a member of the American Legion, a lifelong member of VFW and an avid ham radio operator.
Lee and Bonnie enjoyed their house at Diamondhead Lake with many memories with their family and friends.
Lee is survived by his wife, Bonnie Roy, son, Jeffrey (Linda) Roy of Swanton, OH; two daughters, Cynthia Boeckmann of Kailua Kona, HI and Leslie (John McPhail) Nelson of Lisbon, IA; seven grandchildren, Christina (Michael) Van Ness of Earlham, IA, Sean Roy of Swanton, OH, Stephanie (Ian) Ekberg of Hobe Sound, FL, Parker Boeckmann of Kailua Kona, HI, Spencer (Holly) Nelson of Lake Forest, MN, Kiley Nelson of Cedar Falls, IA, Colten (Alexa) Nelson of Cedar Rapids, IA; eight great-grandchildren, Quinten Van Ness and Kelly “Ash” Van Ness, both of Earlham, IA, Indianna Ekberg and Asher Ekberg, both of Hobe Sound, FL, Roland Draves, Allen Nelson, and Lincoln Nelson all of Forest Lake, MN, and Dallas Nelson of Cedar Rapids, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Glenn Roy.
