He was born October 3, 1948 in Blue Island, Illinois, the son of Leander and Virginia (Hippman) Krett.
Dad was utterly devoted to his family, he loved his children and grandchildren and always wanted to spend every possible moment with them. They all loved him as much as he loved them.
Dad even loved from a far, his son Brandon, Daughter in Law Janet and grandchildren PJ and Tegan were only a phone call away in Texas and he always wanted to make sure they knew he was there for them.
Dad had a serious obsession with Hockey. You could find him sitting next to his daughter Noel at every single game at every rink in the tri-state area where he declared himself the #1 Fan of whatever team his grandson, Carter was playing on. He was so excited when Hockey season began again, it’s going to be hard to not hear him cheer for #78.
Dad had a special bond with Olivia, Leigha, Conley and his newest granddaughter Gracie. He coached Leigha and Olivia’s softball and soccer teams and loved every minute of it. He tried to bribe Olivia and Leigha to play again so he could get a chance to coach one more time, he loved it with all his being. Conley was especially connected to Dad and Dad to him.
He was married to Mom for 50 years and we were fortunate enough to recently celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on February 27th with all our family and friends, he insisted on throwing a beautiful party and we are glad that he did. Mom and Dad were each other’s first and only love and best friends. They were “set up” by Grandmother Rita Trocchio, she knew Dad was the one for Mom. They didn’t always agree on politics in recent years, but the love they had for each other would “Trump” the disagreements. Mom was always devoted to him and he was always devoted to her. The love they had for each other could never be matched and was a beautiful example of a pure and un-ending love.
We will miss him terribly and he’s left a huge hole in our hearts. He was one of a kind, pure gold, selfless, caring, loving, funny, crazy and the utmost example of what a Dad, Husband, Grandpa and Friend should be.
Lee, Dad, Grandpa – you could light up any room with your smile. You will never be forgotten and will always and have always been loved.
Get some rest Dad, you deserve it.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Angela (Trocchio); children Brandon (Janet) of Texas, Scott (Becky) of Sycamore, and Noel (Ken) Bohm of Elburn; grandchildren PJ, Tegan, Olivia, Leigha, Conley, and Gracie Krett and Carter Green; siblings James (Cheryl) of Carpentersville and Nan Schaibly of Georgia; sister-in-laws Dottie Krett of Sugar Grove and Cathy Krett of Florida; and many other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Dennis, John, and Kathy.
