Lee J. (Jenkins) Anderson 85, of Manomet, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2019 at Benchmark Plymouth Crossings. She was the devoted wife of Karl Russell Anderson. Born on June 4, 1933, she was a daughter of the late George and Mildred (Deering) was well-educated. She attended the University of Maryland and Indiana University. She was one of the first women to attend Harvard Business School proudly earning a Master’s in Business addition to raising her family, Lee had worked in various jobs over the years, primarily in social services, and she touched many lives. She was employed by the Plymouth Council on Aging and was instrumental in starting the first Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s support groups as well as Cranberry Hospice. She started the Victory Garden at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility. Lee was also a licensed real estate broker and worked for Jack Conway for many had many hobbies and special interests and was particularly creative artistically. She loved refinishing furniture, gardening, knitting, rug and stain glass making. In earlier years, Lee was very active with the 4-H Club, sharing her love of animals with her followed her husband Karl when his work brought him throughout the U.S., resulting in their five children being born in different states. Besides her husband of 60 years, she was the loving and devoted mother of Karie Lee Ottino of Manomet; Kimberly Ellen Gleeson and her husband Tony of Ireland; Kristin Dora DeWitt and her husband Gerritt of Franklin; Kathleen Hope Anderson of N. Quincy, and James George Anderson and his partner Robin Thomas of Manomet; and son-in-law Stephen Ottino of Plymouth and Abby, her beautiful rescued golden retriever. Lee was the beloved sister of Mildred Wintz of Colorado. She was the cherished grandmother of Karlee, Nicole, Maxx, Samantha, Michaela, Shane, Kiera, Karlan and Jameson.
