Lee C. Scudder, Jr., age 90 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Medina Nursing Home in Durand, IL. He was born February 26, 1931 in Rockford, IL; the son of the late Lee C. and Kathryn (Resh) Scudder, Jr. He attended Forreston High School. Lee married Kathryn Walters on December 21, 1955.
He had served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, 1950-1954. Lee worked for MicroSwitch for 42 years, Smart Motors for 15 years, and retired from Menard’s after 5 years. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Moose Club and American Legion. He enjoyed collecting toy cars, water skiing, and bowling. He was a work-a-holic who always needed something to do.
Lee is survived by his wife, Kathryn Scudder of Freeport; children, Allen Scudder of Freeport, Sheri (Dave) Snyder of Shannon, IL, Lori (Kurt) Murphy of Lanark, IL, and Doug (Sharon) Scudder of Forreston, IL; son-in-law, Gary Best; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, David Scudder and Vernon Scudder; sisters, Betty Amedeo, Mary Lou Wilson, and Barb (Roger) Stucwich; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicki Best; 7 sisters; and 7 brothers.
