Lee Adelman Goldman, 87, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 in New Buffalo, Michigan, with her loving children at her side.
Mrs. Goldman was born January 29, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Meyer and Fanny (nee: Manovitz) Adelman. She married Marshall Bernard Goldman on June 21, 1942 in Chicago. Lee was devoted to caring for her family, and also worked with her husband in their retail clothing business, Goldman’s Department Store, on Chicago’s south side.
They were members of Congregation Rodfei Zedek in Hyde Park. She was a devoted wife, a most loving and dedicated mom, and a great friend, touching so many with her kindness, sense of humor, and gift of giving and service. Her husband, Marshall, preceded her in death on March 26, 1989. The youngest of six, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Morris, Joseph, William, and Sam Adelman, and by her sister, Esther Rose. Survivors include her adoring family: son, Leslie J. Goldman and his wife, Sue, from Chevy Chase, Maryland; daughter, Idene Mitzi Goldman of New Buffalo, Michigan; grandsons, Scott and Evan Goldman; her many nieces and nephews, and dear sister-in-law, Jenee Adelman.
