Leatrice (Lee) Theresa Serpas FitzSimons died peacefully at the age of 88 on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
Lee was born October 15, 1926 in New Orleans, LA to Anthony John and Henrietta Steppe Serpas. She is the sister to Marian Graham and David N. Serpas (wife Dorothy).
She married the love of her life, James Joseph FitzSimons, Sr. and had three children: Jamie Lee FitzSimons Acklen, James Joseph FitzSimons, Jr. and Erin FitzSimons Zibilich.
Lee was grandmother of seven grandchildren: John and Cameron Little, Elizabeth King, Marcy McMenis, James FitzSimons, III, Brittany and Chad Zibilich. She was also the great grandmother of five great grandchildren.
Lee was the President of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Kaycee Auxiliary, a member of the Southern Bell Telephone Wives Association, and a member of the Tour Guide Association of Greater New Orleans. Lee worked as a tour director for Universal Tours and Trips Unlimited for over twenty five years. She loved to travel and enjoyed sharing her passion with others. She was an avid card player and lifetime fan of Mardi Gras. Her warm smile and charisma will be remembered by all.
