LeRoy A. Dunn age 78 of Midland died at his residence on Saturday, February 15, 2014 after a long struggle with complications from Parkinson’s Disease.

The son of the late Edward and Georgina (Gagne) Dunn was born on May 12, 1935 in Midland where he was raised and educated. LeRoy served active duty with the U. S. Army from 1958 to 1960. On April 23, 1960 he married the former Nancy Breedlove at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church. He retired in 1992 from the U. S. Postal Service from a supervisory position after thirty six years of service.

LeRoy was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America achieving the Order of the Arrow and continued with scouting for many years. He was member of St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, the Chippewa Nature Center and enjoyed woodcarving where he was a member of the Midland Woodcarvers, Sanford Woodcarvers and the Woodcarvers Guild of Frankenmuth. LeRoy enjoyed gardening and sharing his harvest with many friends and neighbors.

LeRoy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Dunn; daughters Lou Ann Moore and her friend Rex of California, Dorrine (Tom) Woods of Midland and Rose (Ray) Stover of Midland. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Jason De Bats, Keith & Megan Moore, Matthew, Bethany, Sean Woods, Taylor, Jalynn Bruske, Jessica & Samantha Stover and great grand children Lily and Banner Woods and Silven De Bats. He is also survived by his brother Ken (Clara) Compton, sister Lenore (Dave) Spratke, brother-in-law Charles (Jill) Breedlove. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a brother-in-law Cecil Breedlove, mother-in-law Rosella Breedlove and a sister Kay Moffett.
