Lawrence Sasso Sr., 92 of Orange, passed away Aug. 6, 2009 in The CT. Hospice, Branford. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary Cama Sasso. Born in New Haven April 21, 1917, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Judith Wild Sasso. He succeeded his father in owning and operating The Sasso Tile Co. which he did for many years until his retirement in 1979. He was an Orange resident for 53 years. During World War II, he served as a First Sergeant in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic Pacific War Theater. He saw action in Papua, the East Indies, New Guinea and the Bismarch Archipelago, and was the recipient of several decorations and citations.
