Lawrence King, an Emmy award winning set designer, died on Wednesday at his home in Milford, CT after a long battle with cancer. He was 65. He designed “As the World Turns” for 13 years and was awarded a Daytime Emmy for his work in 1990. He left the show in 1995 to work full time with set designer and life partner, Michael Yeargan, on many plays on Broadway (The Light in the Piazza, South Pacific, Awake and Sing, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone) and operas at the Met and in Europe.
