Larry “Lud” Dudley, age 73, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at his home in Redby with his family by his side.
Larry was born December 28, 1948 in Red Lake, MN to Fabian and Mildred “Midge” Smith Dudley. He grew up in Redby and attended Red Lake High School. Larry worked at: The Redby Saw Mill and then Red Lake Roads Dept for many years until retirement. He then started Dudley Trucking business until 2019.
He also served on the Tribal Council as Redby District Representative from 1994 to 2000.
Larry was married to Jo (Kathleen Stately) for 51 years. They made their home in Redby and were blessed with three children.
He enjoyed bowling in his younger years, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going to the casino, and winning jackpots. He also like to drive around and going to visit his friends. He made the best walleye and baked beans.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jo and his children, Robyn (Larry) Dudley, Robert “Bob” Dudley, Kathi (George) Dudley, Joelle Drouillard and Raymond Drouillard, who they raised. His grandchildren, Kellie Basswood, Kaycie Basswood, Matt Dudley and Ariel Dudley, his great grandchildren, Rosalina, Kristie, Miles, Chance, Jade and William. His sister Rhonda Dudley and his brother, Douglas Dudley and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Josie and George Smith, his siblings, Delwyn, Muriel, Beverly, Kathy, Sherri and granddaughter, Kristie Basswood.
