Lawrence Lee Miller, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away on January 5, 2022, at his home.

He was born in Fort Wayne on September 15, 1941, to the late Joseph and Mary (Lengacher) Miller.

He spent his formative years in Allen County, attending Woodlan High School.

Lawrence was married to Marilyn Young in Merriam, on November 29, 1969.

He spent a handful of years working for different builders as a carpenter before going out on his own with his dad. Together they finished many houses, built unique custom stairways, and screened many porches. After his dad’s passing, he continued to do carpentry work which included making custom light/mailbox posts and glass/screen repair. In 2009, he was the general contractor for the construction of his daughter and son-in-law’s home, which is something he was very proud of.

He enjoyed spending time at the lake fishing, relaxing, and going for pontoon rides. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, taking the four-wheelers for a spin with his granddaughters, driving tractors, and farming with his daughter and son-in-law. Whether it was planting season or harvest, he was always there ready to help. He had a soft spot for the family pets. One of his favorite things to do was tell stories. He loved to talk about the way things used to be and what he did in his youth.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Miller; his daughter, Tonia (Doug) Felger, granddaughters (Kari and Makenna), his siblings: Marilyn J. Miller, Gloria (Don) Delagrange, Lavern Miller, and Chuck Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter Carolyn Miller.
