Lawrence Raymond “Larry” Peck, 70, of Galesburg, died at 4 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, at Heartland Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg. Larry was born April 26, 1951, in Fairfield, IA the son of Clifford Jerome and Vivian Rosetta (Hills) Peck.

Larry graduated from Galesburg High School and received his AAS from Carl Sandburg College in 1996. Larry married Martha (Cottom) Berg on June 26, 1986, in Galesburg.

Larry is also survived by one son, Michael Berg of Victoria; two daughters, Sherry (Gaylon Webb) Edwards of Galesburg and Nicole (Craig) Brandenburg of Knoxville; and four grandsons, Bradley James Edwards, Johnathan Simon Edwards, Jake Ryan Brandenburg, and Lucas Alan Brandenburg. He is also survived by one sister, Rosalie (Ed) McCollum of Fort Madison, IA, many nieces and nephews, and his close friend, Art St. George of Galesburg.

Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Roger Goben; a nephew, James Goben; and two brothers, Jerome Richard Peck, and John Michael Peck. Larry was very excited to join the United States Marine Corps.  Unfortunately, due to a previous injury, he was unable to complete his service.

He worked for the city of Galesburg in the street department for many years, retiring in 2005. Larry always enjoyed having a good time. From boating and fishing to riding his Harley Davidson or driving his Corvette. He could always be found with a cigar and oftentimes a cocktail.  Larry also enjoyed golfing and cooking. He was an avid Notre Dame fan. He was always generous and never knew a stranger. Larry was a member and past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge #894 in Galesburg.
