Lawrence “Larry” G. Shea, 69, of Elkhart, passed quietly in his sleep in his home, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Larry was born Aug. 18, 1945, in Philadelphia to the late Lawrence George and Catherine Cassidy (Kane) Shea.
In addition to his parents, sisters Cassie Hill and Tina Elliott; and grandchild, Noah Shea preceded him in death.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Doris; sons Larry Shea of St. George, Utah and Randy (Becki) Graybill of Elkhart; a daughter, Dawn (Bill) Jones of Northville, Mich.; six grandchildren, Keith, Kyle and Kirsten Jones, and Madison, Keaton and Ivey Shea; siblings Liz Gruber, Mary (Leonard) Sand, Anna (Dave) Walters and Clifford (Lisa) Cassidy, all of Florida, and Tim Shea of Las Vegas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was a commercial truck driver by trade. He attended Zion Missionary Church and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid bass fisherman; he loved watching hockey and caring for his family and friends. Larry was a kind soul who genuinely loved and cared for everyone he met.
