Larry Quisel, 41, of Meridian, Idaho, expired of natural causes Friday September 28, 2018, on the top of a mountain outside Crouch, Idaho, …exactly where he’d have chosen to spend his last moments.
Larry was born February 14, 1977 in Livingston, Montana to Todd and Kathy Quisel. He and his sister, Michele, were raised by loving and hard-working parents. He was taught that family is everything, discipline is king, and everything you do (whether you enjoy it or not), you do with excellence. He carried these lessons into all aspects of his life.
In high school, Larry was a four-time state placer in wrestling, winning two of those years.
Larry married his high school sweetheart, Heather West in 2000. They have three amazing children (if you’ve ever met them you know I’m not exaggerating); Jaelyn, 16, Camden, 14, and Callahan, 10.
After almost 20 years in the commercial construction industry, Larry took a leap of faith and bought a business that he could run from home, selling mechanical equipment. Friends and family watched him apply that same determination and discipline in growing his personal business that he did to wrestling.
Being self-employed allowed Larry to fully enjoy and embrace life in a whole new way. In 2017, he and his wife bought a second home in Garden Valley, Idaho, where they spent weekends with their kids on the Terrace Lakes Golf Course, swimming in the hot pools, and hiking the surrounding mountains.
The lessons he learned as a kid, plus more, have been fully installed in his own kids. Larry taught us all (this is his wife writing) that Quisels do the hard things, never take life too seriously, live it up, and friendship is everything.
Larry flat-out loved life; he was always smiling, teasing, laughing (oh, the laughs), and loving those around him, especially his family and friends.
Larry is survived by…everyone. He was so loved, and in his passing this fact has become more and more apparent. He is survived by his best friend and wife Heather Quisel and his children of Meridian, ID, his parents Todd and Kathy Quisel of Livingston, MT, his sister Michele Keppler and her family of Houston, TX, his grandparents Jim and Shirley Ricci of Livingston, MT, and many close friends. More close friends than most people will ever have their whole lives.
Larry was genuine, loyal, humble, and hilarious. He made life fun, and he fully equipped us all for the road ahead. There aren’t many men that can come into this world, live fully, and bless us all like he did in just 41 years. We’ll all spend the rest of our own lives working to become the version of ourselves Larry knew we could be.
I love you, babe. Thank you for everything.
