Averill Park – Lawrence J. Morin, 73, died suddenly Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at his residence.

Born in Albany, he was son of the late Joseph A. Morin and Frances J. Schillinger Morin and husband for 53 years to Audrey Sweeney Morin. He was raised in Wynantskill and resided in Averill Park for the past 40 years and was a graduate of La Salle Institute. 

Larry was a warehouse manager for American Flat Glass Distributors in Scotia for 39 years and upon his  retirement in 2009 was known locally as the Glass Man. 

He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Nassau Sportsman Club and the Mud Pond Hunting Club in Essex County. His motto was to work hard now, we will get plenty of rest later.  Larry was a decorated combat Veteran of Vietnam (1970) (Blue Beret – Security Forces) US Air Force. 

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons,  Matthew J. Morin, Sr., Averill Park and Eric L. Morin, Troy; a daughter, Julie M. (Brett Hoffay) Morin, Brunswick; two sisters, Donna Holcomb, Wynantskill and Michele Melius, Wynantskill; two grandchildren, Kristin N. Morin, North Carolina and Matthew J. Morin Jr., Averill Park; his dearest brother-in-law, David A. Sweeney; his beloved dog, Maggie McGee and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
