Lawrence Hoerster , 83, died of a combination of illnesses at a local care facility.

At his request there will be no service.

Born May 23, 1929 in Hinsdale Montana to Frank & Gladys Hoerster.

Lawrence entered the Army in 1946 serving in Guadalcanal until his discharge in 1950.

He was a strong fellow with a hearty laugh and an uncomplaining spirit no matter the pain and suffering he endured, especially the last 4 weeks of his life.

He was the 3rd of 11 children and learned early how to work hard, from the steel mill in Provo, Utah to the copper mines in Butte, Montana. He was last employed at the Berkley Pit in Butte.

Lawrence is survived by his sisters, Mary Lou (Bob) Nelson of Great Falls and Ardis Speegle of Vinemont, Alabama; many, many nieces and nephews. He never forgot one of them and was always interested in their welfare.

Lawrence was the last surviving son of the Hoerster’s 11 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Henry, Ivan, Frank Jr, and Gary Rubusch; and sisters, Betty Skoglund, June Manhardt, Theresa Speegle, and Phyllis Dawson.

He looked forward to the resurrection hope promised by Jesus.
