Lawrence (Larry) G. Wilcox, 88, of Indianapolis passed away September 5, 2017.  He was born on November 17, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Alfred G. and Ruth M. Wilcox. Larry was a district manager for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 33 years, retiring in 1985.  He was married to Ruth Ellen (Kutch) Wilcox for 63 years until her death in 2014.  Together, Larry and Ruth raised six children in Highland, IN.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, son Michael (Sandra) Wilcox and daughter Kathleen Krampian.  He is survived by daughters Patrice (Robert) Caron,  Lynn (William) Crae and Christine (Hugh) Calvin; son Martin Wilcox; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Throughout their married life, Larry and Ruth enjoyed camping and traveled all over the United States in their RV. The highlight of their travels was a 9-month-long trip from Indiana to Mexico and up to Alaska! They talked about this trip well into their 80’s. They loved Branson, Missouri, and would vacation there yearly for one to two weeks at a time to see the shows. After retiring, they lived on Shafer Lake in Monticello, IN.  While residing in Monticello, Larry served on the sewer board, serving his community, as he did all through his life from age 11 on.

In these last 10 years, Larry lived in a 55+ community where he befriended many wonderful people who looked after him like family.
