Mr. Lawrence Edward Chatman, Sr. was born in Talladega County, Alabama on April 23, 1947 to the late Mary Lou Chatman and Samuel Chatman.
Mr. Lawrence worked at Crowns in Talladega in 1998 and he served as a Talladega County Sherriff officer in Talladega, AL.
On Sunday, January 17, 2021 he departed this earthly home with us to his eternal home with God.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Chatman and his father, Samuel Chatman.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Carolyn Chatman of Gadsden, AL; eight daughters, Paulette (Jimmy) Whitson of Childersburg, AL; Jacqueline Chatman of Talladega, AL; Angela (Lamar) Walker of Detroit, MI; Melinda (Anthony) Cecil of Detroit, MI: Jerresa (Desmond) McGee of Gadsden, AL; Angela Dixon of Gadsden, AL: Sharhonda Hope of Gadsden, AL; and Karla Jones of Detroit, MI; one son, Lawrence Chatman, Jr. of Birmingham, AL; three brothers, Larry (Barbara) Chatman of Alpine, AL; Ambro (Elizabeth) Chatman of Childersburg, AL; and Terry Chatman of Talladega, AL; two sisters, Carolyn McMillian of Childersburg, AL; and Susie Chatman of Talladega, AL; two special nieces, Josephine Twyman of Talladega, AL; and Carol Twyman of Childersburg, AL; two special granddaughters, Michelle Smith of Childersburg, AL; and Taraji Pope of Childersburg, AL; one special cousin, Walter Swain of Alpine, AL; twenty three grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
