Mr. Lawrence Douglas Little took flight from this earthly life to his heavenly home on September 10, 2022, from the WFBH-High Point Medical Center. He was born on August 8, 1950, in Richmond County, NC to the late Kathleen Little and J. Lee Collins.
Lawrence, affectionately referred as “Shanghi” by his family and friends relocated to High Pont, NC at an early age and attended the Guilford County Schools. He was employed as a taxi driver for many years. He was taught at an early age about the Lord and in his later years he received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He joined in fellowship with the Friendship Baptist Church, Thomasville, NC, and became a member of the male chorus. It was a joy to see him serving the Lord and giving his testimony of how God saved him during a very difficult time in his life. Although he fought many battles in life, he won in the end with Jesus Christ.
“Shanghi” was a loving, outgoing, and rambunctious person, a real comedian at heart. Although he never married, he experienced a lifetime of love and took on the role of fatherhood to his two children and to several other children: giving them not only a father figure, but also, care and love.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy C. Little.
Lawrence leaves to cherish loving memories are one son, Keith Dwayne Hargrove; one daughter, Danielle (John) Lowe; grandchildren; Tayshawn (Miranda) Lowe, Latonya Monique Lowe, Demetrius Ingram, Jazmine Jones, Jamiez Jones and LeKeith Hargrave; loving great-grandchildren; one brother, William (Carolyn) Little; special niece, Catrese Letia Pass; special aunt, Beatrice Atkins; Wanda (Demetrius) McDonald (just like a daughter) all of High Point, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
