Lawrence “Larry” Wayne Anderson, 69, of Great Falls, passed away August 12, 2015 of natural causes at Peace Hospice.

Larry was born November 8, 1945 in Fargo, North Dakota, to Harvey Jerome Anderson and Wanda Mae Glum. Raised in Bismark, North Dakota until his family moved to Great Falls, Larry graduated from Paris Gibson High School. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969, during the height of the Vietnam War.

An avid chef, Larry spent his career cooking in different local establishments around Great Falls: the Iron Kettle, Scheffys Restaurant, then finishing his career at Cattins before they closed their doors.

It wasn’t uncommon to find Larry immersed in a good book, as reading was one of his favorite pastimes. He also found real joy in attending sports games; football, baseball, basketball and hockey. He had a colorful vocabulary, and was Patsy Cline “crazy”.

Larry is survived by his mother, Wanda; sisters, Kathy (Michael) Gerling, Sr. of Las Vegas, NV, Brenda Anderson and Shelly Johnson, both of Great Falls; brothers, Danny Anderson of Great Falls and Dale Anderson of Las Vegas, NV; nieces, Wanda Ryan of Simi Valley, CA, Jessica Johnson of Missoula, MT, Peyton Johnson of Great Falls; nephews, Michael Gerling Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Logan Johnson of Great Falls; great-niece, Samantha Ryan of Simi Valley, CA; great nephew, Cameron Johnson of Great Falls.

Those who have preceded him in death include his father, Harvey; brothers, Harvey Jerome, Jr., Terrance Anderson, Ray Anderson, and niece Jennifer Anderson.
