Lavonne Slavens, 92, of Roswell, NM, passed away peacefully on Friday May 12, 2017 surrounded by many of her loving family members. She was born August 13, 1924 in McArthur, Ohio, daughter of the late Leslie Earl Stuck and Edna Gale (Scott) Stuck. She was a housewife and bookkeeper at various companies throughout her life. She was active in her church at Highland Baptist Church and loved the many great friends she grew so close to throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Gale Stuck, an infant brother Vernon Stuck, her first husband James E. Lomax and a daughter Karen Anne (Lomax) Parry.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert L. Slavens of Roswell, NM, a son Francis E. Lomax and his wife Ann of San Antonio, TX, a daughter Vicki (Lomax) Jamieson and her husband William (Bill) Jamieson of Los Lunas, NM along with Robert’s son Forest Slavens and his wife Brenda of Marion, OH and Robert’s daughter Ruth Ann Dulaney and her husband Earl of Jackson, OH both of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by a nephew Richard Morley and his wife Deborah of Georgetown, TN and a niece Sharon (Bishop) Stoltzfus of Guysville, OH. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
