LaVinna Rae Richardson Zinck, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2022, at her home. She was born on October 2, 1921, in Brigham City, Utah, the daughter of Elizabeth Harriet Evans and George Stuart Richardson. LaVinna was a lifelong resident of the Brigham City area. She attended area schools until she was 13 years old, when her mother passed away. LaVinna stepped up to take care of her younger siblings and went to work to help support her family.
LaVinna met her sweetheart Lee Russell Zinck, while she was at a dance, where she brought a picnic basket to auction off. Lee won the bid of her basket which included a date with LaVinna. They were married on December 21, 1950, in Elko, NV, they were later sealed for time and all eternity on March 13, 1990 in the Ogden LDS Temple. Lee passed away in 2019.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several callings.
She worked at the Continental Bakery “Wonder Bread” until she retired.
LaVinna was an avid learner and never lost her motivation to gain knowledge, always reading and studying books. She enjoyed playing pinochle and spending time with her family. She was very witty- with a great sense of humor. She was “quietly” the loudest person in the room. She was a graceful matriarch and imparted her wisdom to her posterity of 74 and felt her and Lee’s greatest accomplishment was their growing posterity.
LaVinna is survived by her daughter Rebecca Lee (Clyde) Nichols and son Tyler Zinck, sister, Carol Cook; 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband Lee, grandchildren Cory Lynn Zinck, Justin Bradley Taylor, Aadyn Rae Olsen, also 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
The family would like to thank Bristol Hospice for all their care given and to her loving neighbors and friends for their love and support to our mom.
