LaVetra Renee (Reed) Richardson was born May 16,1966 to Gloria Hillard and Joseph Reed. She was simply a piece of work; outspoken, loved to dance, loved makeup, and she shared a passion in doing hair! She attended IPS School #4 and Crispus Attucks where she played basketball and volleyball. She later received her GED at the age of 18.
Renee moved to Mount Vernon Illinois where she had her first daughter Dionne Tucker(Gamble). A few years later she moved back to Indianapolis, Indiana and later on had her second daughter Alexandria France, and gained a bonus daughter Danielle Pointer.
She was the second youngest in the camp, however that did not stop her from being Renee. She was the type to never back down, she always stood her ground! Renee had the prettiest green eyes and the coolest personality. She had so many jokes to make you laugh, regardless of what you were going through.
She had a host of siblings: Gregory Pipes, Rhonda Merriweather, Kimberly Ridley-Stone (Charles Stone), Shawn Motley (Eva Laners-Motley) Joseph Reed, Deane Jackson, Avenell Hunter & Half brother Joseph L. Reed. She was raised with her brothers Shawn and Joe and her sister Deane. She and Deane especially shared an unbreakable bond so close that both sisters named their first daughters after one another. Renee loved her nieces and nephews so much, she would give them all nicknames that they still laugh at till this day.
She transitioned on January 20th 2021 at the age of 54. She was preceded in death by Rosa Smith (Grandmother); Gloria Hillard (Mother); Joseph Reed(Father); Mary Hicks (Auntie); Billy Barrett (Uncle) and Betty Barrett (Auntie). Renee Is survived by her two daughters: Dionne Gamble(Anthony Gamble) and Alexandria France(Rodney Freeman); five grandkids: Dior’ Allen, Anthony Gamble, August Gamble, Reign Freeman and Ahima Gamble, and three bonus grandkids!!!
