Laverne Elaine Hyatt, 69, of Hartford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Clinton Hyatt. Laverne was born in Hartford; she was the loving daughter of the late Pierce and Othele (Taylor) Neal and a lifelong city resident. Laverne was employed by CL&P for over 35 years prior to her retirement. A loving mother, grandmother and sister she is survived by her daughter Crystal Byrd and her husband Christopher Dash; her grandchildren Kahari Battles and Keyani Dash; her step-children Hopeton Hyatt of Port Chester, NY and Sara Hyatt of Boston; her sister Barbara Cottrell and her husband Manchester of Manchester and several relatives and good friends.
