LaVerna Gene Winslow, age 85, of Omaha, formerly of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away November 17, 2020 at CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha.
LaVerna was born April 7, 1935 to Gunnar Bertil and Geneva (Brown) Pearson in Grand Island, NE. She attended school in Blair, when she quit to care for her mother who lost her sight due to diabetes. She later received her GED.
On January 3, 1953 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Dale Winslow in Blair. To this union three children were born. While living in Blair two of her favorite jobs were working at Good Shepherd Home and Dairy Queen.
In 1990 after her husband retired, they moved Osceola to be near grandchildren. LaVerna worked in the laundry at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Health Center in Osceola, retiring in 2010. She moved to the assisted living for a short time before moving in October of 2010 to Immanuel Courtyard Assisting Living where she remained until her passing.
She enjoyed quilting and reading.
Survivors include: one son Andrew (Debbie) Winslow of Omaha; four grandchildren, Aaron (Deb) Watts, Toni (Eric) McDonald, Kylie (Jay) Fallick, Jude Winslow; seven great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Susan Winslow; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence; son Jay, and daughter Becky Watts.
