LaVera Winter of Plainfield, formerly from Indianapolis, passed away on May 19, 2018. LaVera was born on April 11, 1925 in Des Plaines, IL.
After graduating from Shortridge High School, she went to work in a war plant in charge of inspecting air plane propellers for the war effort. This was followed by attending Indiana University and majoring in Business.
She was married in 1954 to Robert K. Winter for 48 years. He passed away on June 13, 2002. After her four sons started school, she went into real estate for the next 17 years. After retiring, she became a Support Group Leader for National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for 18 years.
LeVera is survived by her four sons: Kevin (Kimberly), Bruce (Sandra), Ross, and Curt (Karen); nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
