Laurn passed away on Saturday, October 31st, 2015 at the age of 88. Laurn was born in Esman Township, Illinois on November 14, 1926, the son of the late William and Myra (Gilman) Meadows. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was employed by Miller-Davis Company, retiring after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Westwood United Methodist Church. He loved woodworking, golfing, and dining with friends and family and often spent time helping others with home repair projects.
Laurn was married to Arlene (Carlson) Meadows on June 10, 1948; she survives him. He is also survived by his children, Nancy Jo (William) Meadows Hendrickson and Patti Jean (Gary) Meadows Williams; two grandchildren, Laurin Marie (Ryan) Hendrickson Smith and Katherine Anne (Nicholas) Hendrickson Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Sanna Marie and Riley Isabel Smith. He is also survived by brother-in-law and lifelong friend, Don Carlson; sisters-in-law, Jane Meadows, JoAnn Carlson and Anna Belle Carlson; and 19 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Carl Meadows, Lloyd Meadows and Alvin Meadows; infant brother, Roy Meadows; brother-in-law, Loren Carlson; sisters-in-law, Ruth Meadows, Joann Meadows and Tanya Meadows; and nephew, David Carlson.
