Laurine M. (Giese) Bush, of Howard City formerly of Reed City, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at the age of 101. She was born in Walker on January 14, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Blanche (Anderson) Moerman.  Laurine was a 1936 graduate from Comstock Park High School.  She completed two grades in one year so she could graduate with her brother Lester.

Laurine had many talents; one of them playing the piano and organ for the patients, which were fondly known as the “kids”, at the Spectrum Health Hospital in Reed City and AARP in Reed City.  When Laurine lived in Reed City she was a faithful member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church and most recently The Woods Stanwood Free Methodist Church.

Her quiet presence and simple faith were an example to all who knew her.  She will be greatly missed as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Laurine is survived by her daughter Reverend Janet (Reverend Ronald) White of Howard City; son James (Jacquie) Bush of Belmont; son-in-law, David Grifhorst of Grand Rapids; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Bush, second husband Dennis Giese, two daughters Joanne Simma and Jean Grifhorst, two brothers Elwin and Lester Moerman, sister Dorothy VanDyk, and infant twin brother Lawrence Moerman.
