Early in the morning of March 21st, 2022, an earthly angel returned to her heavenly home. Laurie Dawn Huntington was born in Salt Lake City on August 19, 1964. She graduated from Skyline High School. Laurie was always eager to learn. She graduated from Utah State University, and later earned a Masters degree from Boise State University. She was employed by Weber State University. Laurie left mortality unexpectedly, due to an Aortic Aneurysm.
Laurie’s wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed, especially by her father, whose day she frequently brightened by the puns she would text. She had a very tender heart for animals and the down trodden. She was especially sensitive to children in difficult circumstances.
Laurie married Steven Wallace on May 2, 1992, and immediately had the joy of becoming a mom to Steve’s daughter Summer. They loved family activities and spending time with their pets. Their happy family life changed with Steve’s passing in 2011. Laurie and Summer have continued many of the same interests they shared with Steve. Summer’s little son, Steven, brought great happiness to Laurie.
Laurie loved cats and always had several cats that she would spend time with in her yard. She made sure that any cats in her care were well taken care of, and always fed and sheltered.
Laurie was kind and caring. Her family will miss her big hugs. She was always available to help anyone in the family that needed assistance in any way and will be greatly missed by her two sisters to whom she was so close. She was a genuinely beautiful spirit who was a caregiver to man or beast.
Laurie is survived by her father Omer (Judy) Huntington, mother Charlotte (Ron) Davis, daughter Summer (Tyler) Savage, grandson Steven, siblings Anthony (Rose) Huntington, Holly (Ken) Peterson, Mark (Lia) Huntington and Heather Huntington. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Steven, step-brother Bryce Beesley, and niece Aja Rice. Also survived by her greatly beloved feline friends.
