Laurette Allene Brew, 92, of Boca Raton, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton. She is the beloved wife of Thomas Eugene Brew, who passed away in 1991.
Allene was born in St. Louis, MO, on July 30, 1918, the daughter of Lucille and Irvin B. Johnston. She married Thomas Eugene Brew in 1940 and raised 5 sons. The family lived in St. Louis, MO, Wellesley, MA, Potomac Falls, MD and Keystone Heights, FL. Allene and husband Gene retired to Boca Raton, FL.
Allene’s interests were golf, playing bridge, performing countless volunteer hours in the community and summers on Cape Cod. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Allene is survived by 5 sons: Thomas (Jr) and his wife Frances, James and his wife Liza, Robert and his partner Carlos, Michael and his wife Nanette, Glenn and his wife Kate; 10 grandchildren: Carey, Shauna, Kyle, Haley, Brian, Daniel, Kenneth, Steven, Maria, and Valerie; and 4 great-grandchildren: Ella, Grace, Colin and Olivia.
