Lauretta Waneta (Kirby) NyeAge 85 of Corunna, passed away Monday May 6, 2019 at Durand Convalescent Center.Funeral Services will be held 11am Saturday May 11, 2019 at Nelson-House Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday May 10 from 5pm to 8pm and on Saturday from 10am until the time of service.Lauretta was born July 14, 1933 in Owosso, Michigan; the daughter of Archie and Waneta (McKinney) Kirby.She graduated from Owosso High School and was a member of Grace Bible Church.Lauretta married Merritt Dibean Nye in Owosso on March 3 , 1951; he predeceased her in June of 2004 .She was a member of TOPS, Red Hatters and enjoyed traveling, sewing and crocheting.Lauretta is survived by her children Merritt Nye, Greg (Shirley) Nye, Jackie Pospisil (Gary Gooding) and Cheryl Nye; grandchildren Patrick (Diana) Monroe, Mindy (Mark) Swinford, Greg (Staci) Nye, Joe (Robin) Pospisil, Tim (Beth) Pospisil; Jeremy Edick, Mike Edick and Rob Laben; several great-grandchildren; sister Devora Sewell; brother Buck (Pat) Kirby; and many other loving family and friends.She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; granddaughter Meredith Nye; son-in-law John Pospisil; sister Joyce Deem and brother Rolland Kirby.Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
