Lauretta S. Higney, age 89 of Milford, entered into rest on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in her home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward A. Higney. She was born in Bridgeport on September 23, 1924, daughter of the late William McNally and Mabel Plude McNally. Lauretta was a kind, loving person who was devoted to her family and friends. She was an Administrative Assistant for Avco Lycoming, City Trust and Chase Banks, a Milford Hospital volunteer for over 20 years and volunteer of the year in 2001. She was also a member of the Milford Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her devoted sister, Florence M. Weihing, nephew Thomas J. Weihing (wife Doreen), nephew Richard Bradley, niece Carole Fitzgerald (husband David), stepdaughters Marcia Bergamini (husband Carlo), Frances Fowler (husband Frank), the Zelle and Sullivan nieces and nephews, 11 step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren, a step great-great granddaughter, and her devoted friend John (Jack) Howe. Lauretta was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and James McNally, sister Lillian Rudalewicz and stepson Gerald Higney. The family would like to extend their gratitude to her caregiver, Suzette Walters and her family.
