Mr. Laurence C. Dortenzio, 87, of Orange, beloved husband of 62 years to Doreen Hembry Dortenzio, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Milford Hospital.
Son of the late Charles E. and Angelina Petrucelli Dortenzio, he was born on December 25, 1921 in Bridgeport. Laurence was a master watchmaker having worked in New Haven and retiring from Herbert Jewelers in Milford. He served with pride and honor in the United States Army during WWII, and participated in the First 8 hours of D Day in the invasion of Normandy.
Besides his wife, Laurence is survived by his sons, Douglas L. Dortenzio and his wife Patricia of Wallingford and Stuart Dortenzio of Bronx, NY, and three loving grandchildren Laurence Dortenzio, Christine Dortenzio and Delphine Dortenzio. He is also survived by two sisters Isabelle Biondino of Wallingford and Marilyn Forselius of Orange and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Delphine Dortenzio, a brother Ralph Dortenzio and a sister Edith Meyers.
