Lauren L. Luongo Hart, 59, Indianapolis, died February 17, 2011 at Methodist Hospital-Indianapolis after an extended illness.
She was born January 30, 1952 in Warwick, Rhode Island, the oldest daughter of the late John Luongo of Warwick and best friend of the late Barbara K. Mauch Bradbury. Ms. Hart was a 1970 graduate of Pilgrim Memorial, and a 1975 and 1981 graduate of URI, earning bachelor and master degrees in microbiology and chemistry, respectively.
Ms. Hart also earned a JD in 1998 at the OCU School of Law in Oklahoma City, an Oklahoma bar license, and later became a registered U.S. Patent and Trademark attorney. She practiced for a short time in Anderson, Indiana.
Ms. Hart was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1997 and non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2007, both familial inherited cancers. She fought courageously for many years, but was finally overcome by yet another inherited cancer diagnosed in 2010. Cremation took place in Indiana, her home since 2004.
