MERIDEN – Laure Ann Bell, of Meriden, passed on from this life peacefully on March 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 17, 1960 to the late Alfred and Harriet (Smith) Bell.
Laure graduated high school in Branford and went on to work for the Easter Seals and Goodwill Industries. After her retirement she attended WUCP in Yalesville where she enjoyed various activities. Throughout her life she has lived in several group homes in the New Haven and Meriden areas. She loved music, dancing, animals, going out to eat and being with her family. Laure had a spirit of love around her at all times and her laugh and smile were contagious. Despite the many challenges she faced daily, she always exuded a positive mind and humble heart. Her sister, Linda, was her best friend and was always by her side trying to make a better life for her. She had most recently resided at Twiss Avenue Group Home in Meriden. This was by far the best group home in which she had resided. The staff loved and cared for her with dignity, respect and most of all – love.
Laure leaves behind her mother Harriet Bell, brothers Michael Bell (Louise Bell) of Yalesville and Allan Bell (Jane Gross) of Hamden, and sister Linda Bell-Roy (Alan Roy) of Southington. She also leaves nieces Jennifer, Tracie and Melissa, as well as great-nieces Grace and Isabelle. In addition to her father Alfred, Laure is predeceased by a brother, Wayne Carney (Marge Carney) of Winn, ME.
