Laura Williams Edwards was born on June 10, 1924 in Glassport, Pennsylvania to Welsh immigrants, Emrys and Elizabeth Williams. In 1945, she married Walter Harris who preceded her in death in 1995. In 1998 she married John Edwards who preceded her in death in 2005. Laura was a devoted mother to her son, David. Later she worked as an executive secretary for the Waterman Steamship Company. Laura was good at everything she did and had many interests. She was a fabulous cook and a gracious entertainer who loved to celebrate all holidays- especially Mardi Gras! She loved to play all of her “old favorites” on the organ. She was a whiz at crosswords; finishing even the Sunday puzzle in well under an hour. She was an expert seamstress and sewed many things for her family. Laura travelled the world and showed no trepidation in exploring new places and cultures. Closer to home, she enjoyed seeing the country in her Winnebago; even learning to drive the 27 foot vehicle with confidence.
Laura passed away on November 11, 2013. She is survived by her son, David Harris and her daughter-in-law, Carolyn; her granddaughter, Angelle Rosenbleeth and husband, Jason Rosenbleeth; her grandson, Stephen Harris; her sisters-in-law Miriam Bailey, Gloria Harris, and Gwyneth Williams; her brothers-in-law Russell Lochbaum, and Charles Harris; many nieces and nephews; and her stepson, Gary Edwards and his wife, Nora.
