Laura Lisle, 96, of Moberly, passed away, Wednesday, April 20, 2022.  She was born in Trenton, Mo. November 15, 1925 to the union of Hugh and Lela (Shaw) Renfro.

Laura loved all animals, especially her cat Susie Q. She was the life of the party when enjoying her favorite pastimes of boating and camping. She was a huge Elvis Pressley fan and attended three of his concerts. Laura enjoyed gardening and grew beautiful flowers and was also an accomplished seamstress. Her favorite “side hustle” was buying houses to use as rental properties. She took on all projects with enthusiasm and rarely hired anyone to assist.

One of Laura’s first jobs was driving a truck for her father.  When WWII came along she worked in a gun powder plant in Kansas. She and Oney settled in Moberly and she became the manager for the Singer Sewing Center. Upon its closing she started working for Jerrell Shepherd at KWIX KRES working up to sales manager , the first in the country, where she retired in 1986.

Laura married Owen L “Oney” Lisle on March 28, 1946. Survivors include Jerry and Barb Gillaspie, Robert and Julie Gillaspie, Ty Lisle, Sandy DuCray, Sherry Schaefer and Sunny Raff. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Leona (Earl) Gillaspie, Toni (Dick) Sherwood and beloved niece Earlene Gillaspie Antokas.
