Laura Amelia (Schultz) Fritch, 93 of Syracuse, formerly of Pawnee City, Nebraska, passed away at her home with her family at her side. She was born on October 1, 1920 to Emil and Mary (Robbing) Schultz in Seneca, Kansas.
Laura grew up around the Du Bois area. After she was married, they moved close to Des Moines, IA. Within a short time they returned to the Humboldt, Table Rock and Pawnee City area until May of 2013. At that time they moved to Syracuse, Nebraska.
On September 14, 1940 Laura married Alvin Fritch in Falls City, Nebraska. To this union a daughter, Prudy, was born.
Laura cleaned houses, worked in a grocery store, co-owned and worked at Fritch’s Locker, and also worked a short time at Campbell Soup.
Laura was a member of Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Pawnee City, Nebraska.
Laura is survived by her husband Alvin of Syracuse, NE; daughter Prudy and husband Jon Gorton of Syracuse, NE; grandchildren, Denise Quimby of Lincoln, NE, Kirk Gorton and wife Corie of Syracuse, NE; great grandchildren, Ashley Quimby and Desiree Jordan of Lincoln, NE, Jake Gorton and Ty Gorton of Syracuse, NE; sisters, Luella Baer of Humboldt, NE and Mary Ellen Glenn of Wichita, KS; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Mary Schultz; in-laws, Joe and Anna Fritch; nine sisters and one brother.
