Laura Dial Stoddard died at home on November 12, 2017. Laura was born to Sarah and Drury Dial in Minden, Louisiana, August 30, 1930. She was raised in Louisiana, and Virginia.
On December 22, 1952 she married Raymond Harold Stoddard, Jr. in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Their family consisted of five children: Denise Barrett of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Beth Collins (Dale) of Huntsville, AL; Ivan Drue Stoddard (Sherri) of Roosevelt, UT; Reed Morgan Stoddard (Risa) of Boise, Idaho, and Dr. Grant Fielding Stoddard (KayLyn) of Albuquerque, NM.
Laura received a Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Arizona State University and taught elementary schools in Hobbs, New Mexico for 20 years. She and Ray served as educational missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Zimbabwe, Africa from 1990-1991.
Laura is survived by a sister, JoAnn Lasley (Gene) of Chehalis, WA, and a brother, Glen Hawkins (Sherri) of Wenatchee, WA. She has 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Laura is one of the most Christ-like person you would ever meet. Her devotion to Heavenly Father, the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, her family, and friends will always be remembered. She is truly of women of faith.
