Laura Dee (Foraker) Fields, 70, of Shattuc, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Laura was born on September 30, 1946 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Jack H. Foraker Sr. and Wanda (Meeks) Foraker Hamilton.
Laura is survived by her mother: Wanda Hamilton of Carlyle, IL; one daughter: Ami Swindell Jourdan and Fiancé Matt Finley of Centralia; one son: Grady W. Swindell and wife Jackie of Nixa, MO; seven grandchildren: Zachary Wooters and wife Emily of Las Vegas, NV, Emily Gore and husband Josh of Sandoval, Jacob Wooters and Fiancé Kourtney Lomax of Sandoval, Ethan Jourdan and wife Hailey of Maryland, Quin Swindell of Nixa, MO, Michael Finley and wife Kaylee of Hawaii, Rachel Finley of Murphysboro ; eleven great grandchildren: Carson, Holden, Charlotte, Cameron, Caden, Drew, Bailey, Isaak, Harper, Kyicen and Kynleigh; two brothers: Jack Foraker Jr. of Shattuc and Jonathan Foraker and wife Cheryle of Florida; one sister: Heidi Pomeroy and husband Ferrin of Iuka; special nephew and niece: Jack and Carrie; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; special friends: Karen Queen and husband Floyd of Centralia and Katie Dodson of Paducah, KY; her four legged companion: Sassy Fields.
She was preceded in death by her father: Jack Foraker Sr.; two sisters: Peggy Elaine Foraker and Wanda Lavonne Foraker; one niece: Ashley Rae Ellis; one sister-in-law: Mary Foraker of Shattuc.
Laura graduated from Peoria Manual High School in 1964. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as an RN for over 40 years before retiring in 2006. Her hobbies included cross stitching and flower gardening. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
