Laura Delambre-Melloy, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, NM was born Friday, November 25, 1949 and died on Friday, May 5, 2023. She was surrounded by her family after a long illness.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Lorry Delambre and his wife, Mary. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Joe Melloy; her two sons, David Melloy (wife Erin and children, Madeline and Elliot), and John Delambre-Melloy (wife Kimberly and their beloved pup Winston); her sister, Linda Allen; her niece and nephews, Krista, Kyle, and Brent; as well as many extended family members.
Laura graduated from Sandia High School and went on to earn her undergraduate at Colorado College in Colorado Springs. She received her master’s degree from The University of New Mexico. Laura retired after 25 years of teaching for APS; she taught at various local grade schools and Title 1. Laura’s interests throughout the years included being an avid book reader, playing bridge with a bridge group and playing mah jong with her special friends, Debbie, Mona, and Liela. She was a world traveler that went everywhere; most of her travels included, as she would say, over 40 cruises. She loved to involve her family on many trips, including annual trips to Captiva Island and Sanibel. The last family trip she took was to Hawaii.
