Lakeland, FL – Launa (Lee) Boone Doke, 75, was taken to Heaven to be with our Lord on September 18, 2014 due to cancer. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children and family.
She was born in Wauchula, Florida to Falcon Bartow (FB) Boone and Winnie Conley Boone, both deceased. Launa (Lee) was a retired real estate broker, specializing for 30 years in large acreage, ranches, citrus groves and commercial properties. She loved to play golf and was a avid bridge player. She was a superb gourmet chef, who loved to cook large meals for her family and friends and enjoyed teaching and sharing her recipes.
Launa deeply loved her children and family, and that included all extended family as well. She devoted her life to her children and family and was loved very much by all. Family was the most important thing to her and she demonstrated it in all she did. We cannot express how much we loved her and she loved us in return. She was a devout Christian and a member of St.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Byron Doke and her son Duane Allen Norris.
She is survived by 5 children, daughter Amanda Norris Wolfe (Kevin), daughter Maris Norris Clark (Chris), son Charles Edward “Ed” Norris (Barbara), daughter Amy Doke Bartholomew (Brian) and daughter Candy Doke Concowich.
8 Grandchildren, Rebecca Lee Scholten (Bryan), Patrick Norris, Kelly Ann Jones (Luke), Bailey Ward (Scott), Chase Norris, Brian“Bo” Doke Bartholomew, Marisa Nicole Clark and Mariah Cecelia Clark.
3 Great-Grandchildren – Kaitlyn Wolfe, Ty Scholten and Jameson Jones.
3 Siblings – Yvonne Deen, Merle Boone (Jane) and Elmo Roberts. Any many nieces and nephews.
