Mrs. Williams-Needham peacefully passed away at her residence with her family at her side. She is the wife of Mr. Robert Needham.

LaTanya Deniece Williams Needham, affectionately known as “Deniece” and “Denny”, was born February 27, 1957 in Millington, Tennessee to loving parents, Paul E. Williams and Velma P. Williams. During the early 1960s, the Williams Family moved to San Diego, where Deniece attended St. Rita’s Catholic School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974.

On November 2, 1988, Deniece began working for Trench Plate Rental Company as a receptionist and eventually worked her way up to Sales Consultant. There, she made many long-lasting friendships along the way. She remained a hardworking and dedicated employee for over twenty-five years, up until her passing.

On April 22, 1995, Deniece united in marriage and continued her life’s journey with her soul mate, Robert Needham.

Deniece was a Phenomenal wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family unconditionally and they loved her. She had an unbreakable bond of sisterhood with her childhood friends; Cassandra Lee, Joan Kemp and Dean Joyner. Deniece enjoyed life to the fullest. She always had a smile on her face and a stern word and was unapologetic for her honesty. She loved to shop, whether it was on the internet or with her girls at the malls and she could always find a great deal. Deniece was an enthusiastic traveler and a proud card carrying member of AARP. She attended every AARP Annual Conference since her membership. Throughout her illness, Deniece never complained and was a source of strength for others. She fought a tremendous fight, finished her course and kept the faith.

After a long battle with cancer, LaTanya Deniece Williams Needham answered God’s call and went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, September 12, 2013. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Robert Needham; her loving daughter, Jeniece Rowland (Eric) of Antelope, California; four sisters, Evelyn Staten of San Diego, California, Gail Hawkins of Los Angeles, California, Diane Williams of Sacramento, California and Janelle Dennis of Omaha, Nebraska; granddaughters, Shauna Harrison and Micah Harrison of Antelope, California; uncle, Tom Price of Birmingham, Alabama who affectionately called her “Grinning Jack”; step-daughters, Lisa and Mary; step-grandsons, Chris, Marquice and Savannah; god daughters Mikayla and Rosalind Austin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends who will mourn her passing, yet celebrate her life.
