LaSonya Rochelle Burse was born in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky to Angela and Michael Ray Burse Sr. on 2 May 1983. She traveled across the world with her mother Angela and Father John Mitchell Sr. and to most considered an Army Brat. Lasonya attended Bradwell Institute High School in Hinesville, Georgia. Sonya had many passions in her life and was always busy pursuing different avenues of life. She was incredibly skilled at a variety of things but doing hair and makeup was her specialty. She believed in having a good time and loved to read, listen to old school music and enjoyed watching her favorite show First 48. She was not only the life of the family but to all of us, she was our heartbeat. She was very instrumental in keeping the family bond tight and forever linked to one another. Starting with Tina, Mike, Dominique, Rj, Terrance, McShane and ending with LaTahvia. We were blessed everyday having her as our sister. Sonya understood the importance of family and would reach out wanting updates on our life. She wanted every detail and did not except anything but the truth from you. When we felt like we had nothing left to give she would give those words of encouragement not to give up on our goals. We were constantly reminded by her that she was the oldest, and everything ran through her. She was the alpha of our family. Lasonya’s true calling was being a mother to James and Marques Frazier. There were no obstacles Sonya could not overcome to make sure her boys were taken care of. Lasonya valued all her nieces but grew a special bond with Alexius, NeNe,, Tavia and Araleigh “Those are the daughters I never had”. Sonya had a special bond with all her nieces and nephews. She was known as the disciplinarian to all of them. Lasonya was close to all her siblings but she had an impeccable bond with RJ also known as baby boy to her and Cantina. If she ever needed anything the first phone call would go to RJ and if she needed a hot meal, then that call would go to Cantina.
