Ms. LaSwanta Renesha Sherrod departed this life May 20, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Decatur, Alabama, September 19, 1978, to the late Mr. James Lewis Sherrod and Mrs. Katie Mae Mayes-Sherrod. She departed this life on May 20, 2022 in Huntsville, AL.
Ms. Sherrod confessed hope in Christ at an early age and later in life joined Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL under the leadership of Pastor Deon Watkins where she was a faithful member until God called her home. Renesha had a passion for children, bargain hunting, cooking, and talking on the phone. She had a giving heart and could often be found giving even when she didn’t have it to give.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lewis Sherrod and Katie Mae Mayes-Sherrod; her brother, Tracy Mayes; and grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Fiancé, Warren Langford of Huntsville, AL, two daughters, Quintesha (D’Angelo) Hampton and Makiyah Rhodes both of Huntsville, AL, one granddaughter, Malaysia Hampton of Huntsville, AL, four sisters Wanda (Robert) White of Decatur, AL, Sharon (Travis) Fletcher of Tanner, AL, Veronica (Percy) Gladney of Decatur, AL, Tanesha Sherrod of Decatur, AL, four brothers, Anthony Sherrod of Huntsville, AL, Brian Sherrod, Derrick Sherrod, Ron (Christy) Sherrod all of Decatur, AL, one special friend, Shanika Hawkins of Decatur, AL, three special cousins, Gretta Sherrod-Smith, Tory Mayes, and Judy Tucker of Decatur, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
