Larry Wayne Spencer, 73, of Westminster, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Longview Nursing Home.  Born April 11, 1943 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Melvin Leroy Spencer and Ella Burgoon Miller Spencer. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Judith A. Spencer.

Before retiring he worked at Random House, Inc.

He was Past Commander and Life Member of the American Legion Carroll Post No. 31, Life Member of Old Glory Chapter 22 of the DAV, Past Commander and Life Member of the 29th Division Association, Post No. 48, and was a Life Member of Westminster Fire Engine and Hose Company No. 1.   

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and served as an usher. He loved the Lord, his country, all animals, Southern Gospel music, the ocean and beautiful sunsets.  He was a friend of Bill’s since 1986 and he had a loving heart and a smile for everyone.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Michael W. Spencer and wife Wendy of Lineboro, loving step-daughter Tammy K. Kyper and husband Scott of Lewistown, PA, step-son Steven E. Johnson and wife Lynn of Hanover, PA, six step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by sisters-in-law Betty Spencer of The Villages, Florida, Patricia Savastio of Lantana, Florida and Kathleen D. Cleary of Ireland. Also, survived by numerous cousins. He will be missed by his beloved cat “Pretty Girl”.

He was predeceased by his brother Richard Spencer.
