LARRY W. DARR
Larry W. Darr, 72, of Carlisle, died Saturday, September 30, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 19, 1946 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late William and Irene (Baker) Darr.
Mr. Darr was retired, after 42 years of service, from the former Carlisle Tire & Rubber.
Larry was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #1299, Carlisle and was a Cub Scout Leader with Pack 185, Huntsdale. Mr. Darr loved to attend auctions and flea markets. He was truly the first “American Picker.”
He was preceded in death by 7 brothers: Robert, Paul, Albert, Dale, Chester, Lee and Wayne.
Surviving are two daughters: Jessica Glunt of Newville and Kris Hahn of Carlisle; a son: Matthew of Carlisle; three brothers: Carl, Stephen and David, all of Carlisle; three sisters: Jean King and Betty Crain, both of Carlisle and Mary Kirkpatrick of Mechanicsburg; eight grandchildren: Cori, Cody, Casi, Sydney, Gabe, Shea, Bridgett and Tyler; and three great grandchildren: Avehanna, Braxton and Hazel.
